Planeta Junior we are company within Grupo Planeta and De Agostini, a European leader in the creation and commercialization of contents and entertainment properties for children and young adults. Born in 2000, we have a varied catalogue made up of internationally successful properties and our own content. Our activity consists of the production and distribution of animated series and the commercialization of their derived rights (television, licensing and promotion). |
Planeta Junior Catalogue
Our catalogue ranges from own productions such as Gormiti, Pio rocks, Heidi 3D, La Abeja Maya, Mutant Busters, Sendokai, Egyxos and Bubble Bip to properties such as Miraculous: The adventures of Ladybug and Catnoir, Zak Storm, Super Wings, Wissper, Super 4, Mia and Me, Hello Kitty or Vicky the Viking 3D. Our portfolio also includes the most popular animation derived from Dreamworks Animation's big screen hits such as Trolls, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, The Penguins of Madagascar, Puss in Boots, and How to Train Your Dragon, among others.
In January 2016, we joined forces in a strategic alliance with the German company m4e, focusing on co-production, distribution and consumer products, thus strengthening our activity in central and northern Europe.
In 2017 we signed an agreement with Method and Zag Animation for the co-production of new Zag Heroes animated series, and in January 2018 we did an allied with Cottonwood Media for the development, production and distribution of new content. Squish will be the first animated series of this agreement.
All these series cover a wide range of audiences, from pre-school (children from 2 to 5 years old) to children (from 6 to 10 years old).
Activity Territories
In Planeta Junior we have a solid and stable team of professionals with extensive experience in the sector, who lead each of the company's business areas with extensive knowledge of the markets. Specifically, we operate in 33 European countries and have sales subsidiaries in Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Eastern Europe and Turkey. Also, since we have the rights for all the world's own productions, in Planeta Junior we reach territories outside Europe such as Latin America, Korea, Singapore, the Middle East (Bahrain, Egypt, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Israel...), among others.
We are constantly searching for potential co-producers in each country and work is done with local companies to develop the content. This allows us to know more precisely the particularities of each territory and thus to generate a product suitable to the characteristics of the global public.
